Electronics For Imaging, Inc. (Nasdaq:EFII) today announced the availability of four new EFI™ Fiery® digital front ends (DFEs) for the updated Fuji Xerox® Versant® family of digital presses. The new products continue EFI Fiery DFEs presence as the market-leading digital print workflow technology in Asia with Fuji Xerox digital production equipment.

In addition to delivering market-leading Fiery performance, outstanding colour, industry-leading usability, and seamless integration, the new Fiery DFEs – the EX-P and EX 3100 Print Servers for the Versant 3100 Press and the EX and EX-i 180 Print Servers for the Versant 180 Press – feature the latest Fiery FS200 Pro software and innovative new hardware technology.

Groundbreaking new Fiery NX platform
The new EX-P 3100, EX 3100, and EX 180 Print Servers are the first in the Asia Pacific region to utilise the new Fiery NX hardware platform, first previewed at drupa 2016. The new NX Premium (EX-P 3100) and Pro (EX 3100 and EX 180) servers feature a sleek, modern design and updated hardware.

Operators can use new Fiery QuickTouch™ software through a built-in 17.5-cm touchscreen display on the server to get faster views of job status information and easily perform certain device management functions. With just a tap, the touchscreen display gives operators easy access to intuitive system installation, backup and restore functions as well as to system diagnostics information.

The NX Premium and NX Pro servers are housed in the new Fiery NX Station GL, a cutting-edge, ergonomic work environment for customers who need a highly efficient and comfortable workspace. The NX Station GL’s compact design boasts a 20% smaller footprint than previous Fiery work stations, and other features such as a large work area, wireless keyboard and mouse, sliding server shelf, and storage compartments help improve operator productivity.

Enhanced Fiery HyperRIP
The new EX-P 3100 Print Server enables users to print more jobs in the shortest possible time. Users gain maximum engine utilisation and performance with the server's enhanced HyperRIP mode for parallel processing of up to four print jobs 55% faster than servers without HyperRIP. Plus, the server's new Rush RIP mode opens up a fifth RIP to process rush jobs when all four main parallel processors are busy.

Print perfect PDFs
Only Fiery servers have been awarded the designation of printing the perfect PDF by the VIGC group. Fiery servers with the Adobe PDF Print Engine perfectly print the Altona Technical Suite version 2, the Ghent Workgroup’s PDF/X-4 test files, and additional tests developed by VIGC. With DFEs other than Fiery, the press output may not match the designer’s intent on the first print, causing spoilage, possibly missing customer deadlines, or lowering customer satisfaction.

Manage jobs and shop operations from anywhere
Fiery servers provide the most extensive range of options for Fuji Xerox customers to manage and monitor their print engines from anywhere, helping to unify multi-vendor environments and providing a seamless workflow and smooth operator experience.

With more than 250,000 downloads worldwide, Fiery Command WorkStation® is the industry-standard job management interface, allowing users to manage all their Fiery Driven™ print engines from any Mac® or Windows® client. Fiery Navigator™, a cloud-based product, makes it easy for users to monitor their production operations anywhere, at any time, from a standard web browser. Users gain actionable insight into their production data to optimise resource allocation, ensure compliance with operating procedures, and make smart equipment decisions. And, with the free Fiery Go app for Apple or Android devices, Fuji Xerox users can monitor the status of multiple Fiery Driven print engines to manage print jobs from anywhere in the print shop, providing the ability to multi-task for a more efficient workplace and higher productivity.

Automated job preparation
EX-P 3100, EX 3100, and EX 180 Print Server users can access EFI Fiery JobFlow™ Base software for free, gaining the advantage of the software’s ability to automate manual preparation steps required for the initial setup of a job. The software gives print professionals the ability to submit and process similar jobs with a single click, as opposed to 10-20 clicks. An optional upgrade to the full version of Fiery JobFlow provides even more job automation functions.

Industry-leading integration
Fuji Xerox customers can use the EX-P 3100, EX 3100, and EX 180 Print Servers as a gateway to the broadest portfolio of integrated workflows, such as Xerox FreeFlow® Core and EFI solutions such as Fiery Central and EFI Digital StoreFront® eCommerce and web-to-print software, plus EFI’s industry-leading portfolio of MIS/ERP workflow products.
