Landa announced that Mansfield-based sustainable packaging specialist, Reflex, has signed for a Landa W10 Nanographic Printing® Press at the show. Representing the first UK sale of the one-meter width web based press, the UK print house is excited for the unique opportunities provided by Landa’s technology - the ability to better support high speed, high quality, low cost short to medium run length customized flexible forms.

Will Parker, Reflex, comments: “We were the first business to sign an LOI for a Landa Press in 2012 for their W5, and four years on, I was here first thing on day one of drupa to become a paid-up customer for the W10. Why? Because the disruptive nature of Landa technology perfectly mirrors our business strategy. But also, it answers so many of the issues that our customers are looking to solve. Shorter runs, increased flexibility and greater consumer engagement. Today, digital packaging conversion becomes truly industrial.”

Established in 2002 and today employing over 560 people, Reflex has a turnover approaching £100 Million. As one of the most successful and progressive flexible forms print houses in the UK, sustainability is also very close to its heart. This is evident not just in the technology it adopts, its products and services, but also in its green initiatives and the electrical car charging points that line its car parks.

The Landa W10 Nanographic Printing® Press offers a time-efficient and cost-effective printing
solution for flexible packaging. It provides the ability to print mainstream flexible packaging applications on any standard plastic substrate at 656 ft./min. (200 m/min.) using digital technology that requires no setup. A crossover point with analog up to 30,000 feet (10,000 linear meters) lets printers and converters offer affordable digital production while providing fast turnaround and on-demand printing.

“Sustainability was another reason why the Landa W10 resonates so well with our business – it’s credentials are impeccable. Four years on, for all those that told me that Landa would never get there, they must be eating their words today. Quite clearly, the technology is not only here, but it’s here bigger and better, faster and stronger than anyone ever anticipated.”

Throughout Drupa 2016, Landa will conduct live demonstrations of its Nanographic Printing® Presses, including the webfed Landa W10 for flexible packaging, the sheetfed Landa S10 for folding carton and POP, and the sheetfed Landa S10P perfecting press for commercial printing. Landa will also be demonstrating its newest technology, Nano-Metallography®, a zero-waste metallization process that will halve the cost of metallized printing.

Landa will hold theater presentations five times a day for the entire duration of the Drupa exhibition. Reservations for the show can be made at kiosks on the Landa stand (Hall 9) during the exhibition.
