  ¡§Soaring Creativity - Hong Kong Publishing and Printing Industries in International Book Fairs¡¨ Press Conference  
 
 
"Soaring Creativity - Hong Kong Publishing and Printing Industries in International Exhibitions" Press Conference was held successfully on 25 July at the Hong Kong Conventional Exhibition Centre. The project, which has obtained the government sponsorship from "CreateSmart Initiative", was jointly organized by Hong Kong Publishing Federation and The Hong Kong Printers Association to promote and showcase the creativity and achievement of Hong Kong Publishing and Printing industries to people all over the globe.
 
         
  2011 HKPA & KBA Golf Tournamnet is successfully held  
 
  HKPA and KBA has jointly organized 2011 Golf Tournament on 30 November. The tournament was successfully held at Missionhill Golf Club (Gongguang) this year. The Golf Tournament is always one of the most attractive events of HKPA. It has attracted about 80 participants from different printing and related companies this year.  
         
  Soaring Creativity "Hong Kong Pavilion" Industry Sharing Seminar  
 
  Co-organized by Hong Kong Publishing Federation and The Hong Kong Printers Association, ¡§Soaring Creativity ¡X Hong Kong Publishers and Printers¡¦ Participation at International Exhibition¡¨ aims to promote the achievements of Hong Kong¡¦s creativity to the world. The project specially held a sharing seminar on 13 October, inviting outstanding people in the industry to share their views on the prospect of the publishing and printing industry in Hong Kong and Asia, guest speakers include Professor Gilbert Fong, renowned translator, and Mr Keith Li, co-founder and CEO of Innopage Limited.  
         
  Hong Kong Pavilion At The Frankfurt Book Fair For The First Time  
 
  Co-organized by Hong Kong Publishing Federation and The Hong Kong Printers Association, ¡§Soaring Creativity ¡X Hong Kong Publishers and Printers¡¦ Participation at International Exhibition¡¨ aims to promote the achievements of Hong Kong¡¦s creativity to the world. The project is sponsored by CreateHK of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and is participating in the Frankfurt Book Fair as an assemblage for the very first time, showcasing the uniqueness of the publishing and printing industries of Hong Kong with around 750 exhibits collected from the industries. To commence this grand event, the project held an opening cocktail and press conference on 12 October, with guests from both Chinese and foreign publishers witnessing the birth of the Hong Kong Pavilion.  
         
  Positive Response and Praise from GAPP  
 
  On 31 August, Mr. Liu Binjie, General Director of General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP) of the People¡¦s Republic of China (PRC) had a meeting with more than 30 representatives from the Hong Kong printing and publishing industries, including Mr. Yeung Kam Kai, Chairman of the Hong Kong Printers Association and Mr. Chan Man Hung, Chairman of the Hong Kong Publishing Federation, in Beijing. During the meeting, they discussed the recent development and expressed concerns over the industries.  
         
  Chinese Senior Officials visits Hong Kong Pavilion of BIBF 2011  
 
  On 31 August, Mr. Luo Fuhe, Vice-chairman of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Mr. Wu Shangzhi Director General, Department of Publishing Administration, General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP), Mr. Chen Yingming, Deputy Director-general, Department of Foreign Communication and Cooperation, General Administration of Press and Publication, Mr. Wang Tao, Secretary of China Publishing Group and other important executives visited Hong Kong Pavilion during a special tour of Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) 2011.  
         
  The First Hong Kong Pavilion in BIBF 2011  
 
  Hong Kong Pavilion was set up in the Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) 2011 for the project ¡¥¡¥¡¥Soaring Creativity ‐ Hong Kong Publishing and Printing Industries in International Exhibitions¡¦¡¦, displaying about 600 exquisite products produced or published by the Hong Kong printing companies or publishers. A Cocktail Reception cum Press Conference was organized on 31 August to mark this grand occasion, officiated by Mr. Sidney Chan, Deputy Director of the Office of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in Beijing.  
         
  Professionals Forecast Future Publishing and Printing Development of Asia in BIBF  
 
  A seminar from the project "Soaring Creativity - Hong Kong Publishing and Printing Industries in International Exhibitions" was organized in Beijing International Book Fair 2011 (BIBF) on 1st September. The seminar invited Mr. Lee Ka Kui, Executive Director of Sino United Publishing (Holding) Limited, Mr. Craig Au-yeung, Senior Cross-Media Creator in Hong Kong and Mr. Lo Chi Hong, Professional of publishing and printing as speakers, sharing their views on the future of publishing and printing industries in Hong Kong and Asia.  
         
  The Hong Kong Summit ¡V Global Printing Standardization  
 
  Hosted by The Hong Kong Printers Association, ¡§The Hong Kong Summit ¡V Global Printing Standardization¡¨ was successfully held on 17th June 2011 at VTC Auditorium of Hong Kong Design Institute. Featured prominent overseas speakers and experts from ISO TC 130 explored the implementation of ISO 12647 standards in production processes and the benefits of printing standardization to Hong Kong Printing Industry attracted more than 600 industry players from printing and related industries.  
         
  The Inaugural Ceremony of the 37th Executive Committee and the 72nd Anniversary Celebration  
 
  HKPA has its 72th birthday party on 17th June, 2011, and the 37th Executive Committee has its Inauguartion Ceremony at the same time. We are glad to invite Mr. Ng Hon Man, the Great Bauhinia Medal, Mr. Yang Guang Rui, Deputy Director of Administration of Press and Publication of Guangdong Province to be our honorable guests.
